About Mr. Mehta

Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to 6th and 7th grade Social Studies! I am so excited to have you in my class this year. I believe each and every student has their own wonderful story and I look forward to learning yours! In the meantime, here is mine. I was raised in upstate New York and received my undergraduate degree from Oswego State University in Adolescent Education, my Master of Arts in Teaching from Union Graduate College and am now currently enrolled at St. John's University working on my Ph.D in Literacy. I have always wanted to be a teacher and social studies has always been a passion of mine.
I have been living in Houston for over five years now, and this is my sixth year teaching at FMBS. Outside of the classroom, you can catch me coaching football, softball or planning a 6th grade event. I love to cheer on my students in all of their extracurricular activities, and if you're lucky, you might just catch me breaking it down on the dance floor at school dances. When I'm not at school, I'm usually working on my own school work or off traveling to explore a new country or state. My favorite places I have been to are Cuba, India, and Colorado.
I look forward to teaching and learning alongside you this year! See you in class!

Tutorials and Extra Help

Tutorials are a great time to get extra help on information you might have missed or misunderstood in class. Either myself or one of the other 6th grade social studies teachers will be available Monday after school for extra help!
